you're right I was not suggesting that non-violent methods would work in the various situations today. IMHO, one of the primary aspects of a non-violent struggle against oppressors is the acceptance that it takes many years (even generations) to accomplish the objective. The world today just does not have that acceptance. Remember, one of the 1st struggles in India for independance was in 1857 and that was a violent one. It took until 1947 for India to gain its independance.
