Hey Clappers,

I'm glad you liked em, I will be adding more. Crystal Mountain is a fabulous place, it can present a challenge to anyone.

It takes me about an hour and forty minutes each way to get up there..90 miles. I take a very back route, it's a very rural beautiful drive almost all of the way.

No Gondola, yet. But they have plans for expansion. The whole ski area is within the National Forest, so any expansion is a very slow process. They would like to add a gondola and several new lifts. The new lifts would be in what is currently "backcountry"...meaning it is in the ski area but not directly lift served. So there is a lot of great terrain available for those that are willing to work for it a bit by traversing or hiking. When you hike to the top of the king, it is dead silent up there (unless the wind is howling). It is a great spot to sit and take in the natural beauty for a while before you head back down the mountain.

The current chair ride to the top is not all that long. There are two high speed chairs that get you all the way to the top in less than 15 minutes.
