What you said is preposterous. The Naz is in a bear market. Those who claim you can not time it could easily be correct. Short and hold has worked well throught the decline regardless of some very sharp rallies.

Investing in a bear market could be buying leap puts and walking away. Taking profits on major declines, rolling down but more or less just periodically managing profits.

I would call this investing as opposed to trading.

If you can buy leap calls on the way up and holding them, why isnt buying leap puts on the way down and holding them investing?

In fact, going long here is not investting at all. it is pure specualtion and hopes of catching the bottom without having any idea how far we can go.
