Americans do grasp that he is not a fundamentalist. Hitler wasn't a communist, Stalin wasn't a Nazi, but for a time they were allies. In the Middle East there is an axim: "The enemy of enemy is my friend" I do not understand what is so difficult to understand. The fundamentlists and Hussein have a common enemy and it is certainly possible that they could cooperate to hurt that enemy - namely us. You may feel that threat is minimal. Others do not. Certainly the president does not. You just don't answer the argument by pointing out what everyone already knows. Little joe
