why should people have easier access to mind altering drugs than antibiotics?

Because antibiotics don't grow wild in ditches?

<< Anyway, why should people have easier access to mind altering drugs than antibiotics? >>

Because they are going to get them anyway. Why not take the evil drug kingpins out of the picture. Why keep drugs such a profitable business?

Columbia will be run by drug kingpins in not too long. In fact, you can kiss most of South America and Central America goodbye within the next 20 years, all run by ruthless, druglord, dictators.

Who knows what the billions and billions of dollars of drug influence will have on our own system.

You might win the battle against drugs, but lose the war.
