Re: YOU JUST WROTE A MASTERPIECE on GROVE and HIS GANG

Thanks for your kind words. Unfortunately, Intel's management hasn't been as bad as that of a lot of other companies.

OTOH, Intel's corporate looters are among the very few brazen enough to openly lobby against legislation designed to stop future thefts.

Regards,

Dan

Carl,

Last year, at an investor's conference, Warren Buffett spoke at length with Andy Grove regarding the need to expense options to give shareholders (owners of the business) a truer picture of a company's financials.

The story goes that after their lengthy conversation, Andy was convinced by Buffett that expensing options was the right way to go at Intel. However, later when the engineer (Grove) went back and spoke to the bean counter (Andy Bryant), he changed his mind a second time.

What was it that Bryant said to Grove (a guy who is famous for his analytical thinking and decision making abilities) that made him change his mind again? It sounds so out of character for Grove to change his mind like that. It must have been a very powerful counter argument by Bryant. I would love to have been a fly on the wall at that meeting between Grove and Bryant.

You may be on to some of the content of that discussion with your recent posts.

All the best in your quest,

FWIW: Sold my INTC many moons ago.
