I have to say, I don't particularly like Bush's economic plans. He claims it will generate growth as well as increase the number of small businesses, but I don't see any concrete evidence of that in the plan - only rhetoric.

His $7500 tax free savings plan (which I think replaces the mess of IRAs and defined benefit plans on the books now), is the best I've seen from Bush. He's taking away the deductibility of the traditional IRA, essentially changing all plans into what the Roth account was, with no income limits and increased contribution rates.

This seems like it has the potential to give investments in growth equities the same kind of tax deferred benefits that only real estate enjoys currently.

Amy, RE: I have to say, I don't particularly like Bush's economic plans.

Sorry, Amy, but that is wrong. If fact, I don't think it's possible.

How can you dislike something that doesn't exist?

I think you have got to look at the plan yourself and not simply be content with the explanations or criticisms of others. The plan looks brilliant to me but then I am a tax lawyer.
