Businessweek had an article recently that revealed how much the white collar work force is at risk to jobs being exported to Asia. White collar jobs are being exported now and it will only get worse. Germany and France may believe Iraq is opportunity to improve their economies. I do not see any economic gain for the US in Iraq. I see only that our costs will be higher if we do not ensure the free flow of oil and we do not start breathing some hope into the ME. I am an optimist that once the oppressing party is exterminated that Iraqi's will recover quickly and be a beacon of hope for the others being oppressed in the name of Allah. No need to convince me that we must take the fight to Islam and bring them kicking and screaming from the 14th century to the 21st. People may not want to place this in the context of a religious war or war between civilizations, but I believe it is.
