What we did we did for ourselves. Many people in the former USSR miss the stability of communism. What about them? I don't know if they are better or worse off now. We'll have to see how it plays out.

I don't look for plots, coverups and conspiracies, actually.

The cold war was about our fear of communism, and our spheres of power. If you are such a student of history you will find the rhetoric of the time infused with those two things. At least you agree with me that it was about power. I'm sure if you take a gander at the red scares in our past, you'll be able to eventually agree with me about the fear part.

Ask the peoples of Poland, Hungary, Romania, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Slovakia, Slovenia, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, etc. if they cherished the brutal Russian occupation of their countries.

I have family and acquaintances in Hungary and Croatia

they loathed communism

you want to talk about unjust, unfair, unprincipled, unwanted governing?

communism was fake

the governing communist party officials had money, homes, food, warmth, clothes in abundance - the rest of the people had poverty and shortages stuffed down their throats and no say about it

of course you could complain or object and go to prison or disappear

Speaking of conspiracies....

Some of these clowns have been promoting the theory that the Pentagon was not hit by a plane; it was an inside job. Rat Duh-ray even claims it was hit by a US cruise missile launched from offshore.

A few facts:

Lend Lease to Russia
geocities.com
Franklin Roosevelt's alter ego and Lend-Lease administrator Harry L. Hopkins, a KGB agent, declared to Russia before a crowd at Madison Square Garden on June 22, 1942, that: "We are determined that nothing shall stop us from sharing with you all that we have." He was not joking.

Hoffmann, Joachim - Stalin's War of Extermination 1941-1945. Planning, Realization and Documentation
amazon.com
Since the 1920s, Stalin planned the “World Revolution.” The outbreak of war in 1939 gave him the opportunity to realize his plans violently. This did not escape Germany’s notice who in turn planned a preventive strike. Dr. Hoffmann’s book proves Stalin’s aggressive intentions, shows how the Bolsheviks used unimaginable violence to force their own unwilling soldiers to fight against the Germans. Furthermore, this book reveals not only the atrocious treatment of German POWs by the Red Army, but explains also how Soviet soldiers were incited to unlimited hatred against everything German. Finally, it gives the reader an unpleasant glimpse into the gigantic wave of looting, arson, rape, torture, and mass murder that befell East Germany at the end of the war. Stalin’s War was a war of extermination both against Germany and against the peoples of the Soviet Union. It was not before 1948 that the US government realized that it fought against the wrong enemy in Europe during WWII

<<The countries, bordering Russia, suffered through very repressive Communist Russian puppet regimes. Ask those countries, who are now standing in line to be America's ally, if they felt that America's cold war, to free them, was a selfish American act.
Thank God for America, right?>>
