Define failure of ongoing efforts.

Lorne,

When I typed that, I was afraid you would take it wrong and you did. I am sorry I could not convey my thoughts to you more precisely.

The reason I ask, is that our goals in confronting Saddam have been and still are, somewhat fuzzy.

Disarmament seems to be the most commonly referred goal. Are we talking total divesture of all biological, chemical and nuclear weapons? Are they permitted to keep any for defensive purposes? Will other nations also need to divest?

Are you also talking about regime change? If so, to what? Democracy? Next-in-line ascendancy? Who decides?

And what of the oil fields? Who should control those?

Lorne, I will gladly discuss this with you, but you will need to give me more detailed information. The devil is always found there.
