Taken to its logical extreme, we would need troops in every country, watching every little move they make to see if it passes our approval.

No.. taken to its logical conclusion every current, or potential, despot in the world would understand there is a limit to ability to tweak the nose of the UN and the US...

Look at Kim Jong Il.. Do you think he hasn't learned some terrific lessons from Saddam Hussein about how far he can yank our chains??

The US is merely doing what the UN is unwilling to do... And the history books will show that, had the UN and original Gulf Coalition been more proactive, Iraqis would not have had to deal with losing an entire generation and 13 years of economic opportunity.

In fact, the UN would be nothing were it not for the US injecting sufficient spine in its back to make it look like its more than an excuse for a bunch of elites to live in NYC
and act like they are actually doing someting...

I think we should move the UN to some really cold place like Iceland. Let them spend their time there without the distractions of NYC...
