On November 8, 1942, British and U.S. troops, led by General Dwight D. Eisenhower, landed in Casablanca, Morocco, and Algeria. There were more than 108,000 men included in this landing. The U.S. only lost 556 troops to death, 41 were missing, and 833 were injured. A cease-fire was declared on November 13.
