Interesting observation. Thanks.

I am from Beijing. And you must like mild (not cold and not hot) weather, and that is perhaps why you think the weather in most part of US is horrible. I am ok with the weather because it is not much different from that in north part of China. Although I do prefer the weather in the West coast, I do not like the weather in Seattle. Too much rainy days, I would rather have colder and drier weather.
