Starbucks plans about 3000 stores in China, and the people in China making $2 per day won't be buying them. You seem very concerned that Starbucks does not know what they are doing -- perhaps you should short their stock. I don't do their market research, but I do read their public statements. If you tell them of your views and your vast experience in Hong Kong 25 years ago (and I would be sure to mention your ride in the Rolls), then perhaps they will see the flaw in their plans and drop the idea altogether. Or perhaps they will laugh till it hurts and then send you a polite note to the effect that they have done their homework and look forward to the opportunities they see in China.
