"As a US citizen I am thinking of looking elsewhere for a second citizenship incase things get ugly here"

It's been always like that. They love the place they live, until things get rough and they end up in Brazil:

We already received the Hugenots. The Ucranians, the Polish, Germans and Italians, plus Armenians and Lebanese. Last time we received the Americans were the Confederates running away from the carpetbaggers. They gave us Rita Lee our rock start descendent of General Lee.

Hey how about coming from a place that allow you to enter in the toghest bars in the world and shout: "We play the best soccer in the whole planet!!!" And the tough guys, nod in silence and don't dispute you.

The same place of Castro 'Spiderman' Neves, Cristiano Da Matta, Guga Kuerten, Ronaldo and Leila Barros? Oh by the way Gisele Bunchen too!

OK, if you want a Brazilian passport and a nice place to live I can give you some hints :-)

Yeah, you would be entitled to write about these useless 2 million square Km of forest called the Amazonian Jungle because, then, you would own it, like I do!

Ah yes... second passport is a good idea... and war or not war is still a good idea.

Canadian parents... and 6 month residency ? that's not too bad... or ? as for the Irish... I am not sure, I have not really checked but I think for residency one of the requisites is that you must have been a corrupt politician at some point.... lol
