Jerry has done an amazing job with a city full of problems...Oakland is really turning around in many areas...
other spots are still very depressed, but many are staging a comeback .

That trial and conviction is, IMO, a perfect example of the overzealous manner in which Ashcroft is applying federal law to, in this case, prosecute a victimless crime. And to selectively claim that federal law trumps state and local ordinance to regulate private behavior. Next stop: the bedroom.
