A US invasion of Iraq is no more likely to build a democracy than the invasion of Afghanistan was.

We reinstalled the warlords as the rulers of Afghanistan (opium production up 2000% now?), and you can bet your top dollar Saddam will be followed by another strongman to keep the locals from getting uppity.
