SK Telecom produces mobile movies

The top South-Korean mobile operator SK Telecom Friday unveiled its new full-motion movie in color for wireless phones. The romantic love story tells of 17-year-old high school boy, who lost his mother at birth.

With a total budget of EUR 400,000, the new movie is composed of 19 episodes, each about two and two-and-a-half minutes in length.

The cost of downloading each section is about 15 cents, Korea Times reports.

To view the movie on the move, users must have a new handset that supports CDMA2000 1X EV-DO (evolution data only) technology.

Since last November, SK Telecom has launched three wireless films such as “Project X,” ”Egg and Gangster,” and “My Good Partner,” blending special effects with unusual camera work.

SK Telecom launched commercial service of the EV-DO network, which offers an interim way toward full-fledged third-generation (3G) service.

SK Telecom had some 120,000 subscribers for its EV-DO service out of its 17-million subscriber base at the end of January.

"..the EV-DO network, which offers an interim way toward full-fledged third-generation (3G) service."

Full-fledged third-generation (3G) service like FOMA, JPhone and "3"?

ROTFLMAO!
