"Time itself is a function of this physical universe and therefore can be traced back (utilizing cause and effect) to a beginning."

As I said in my post, and as is universally recognized: It CANNOT be traced back. If this is the only universe and if there has always been movement and space...then there has always been time. If there was a God Being then there was time, as well. Where there is thought there is time--regardless of whether time is essentially a construct of consciousness, or an objective fact.

"The simple answer is often not the correct answer"

No. But the simplest answer which accounts for the known facts is always the preferred one, and is more likely to have truth value.

"Any simpleton should be able to see that with a modicum of reflection."

Yes.

"However, I contend that given the existence of personality and diversity in this universe, the concept of a personal beginning containing unity and diversity explains the universe as we see it far better than an impersonal beginning"

That is like saying that given the existence of rocks in this universe, the concept of a beginning containing rocks explains the universe. NONSENSE! You are simply spouting bald statements with no logical coherence! The building blocks of the many "things" which are in the universe are tiny tiny particles which have movement. Some things in the universe have personality, some things have fur, and some things have reflective surfaces. These facts have nothing to do with questions of ultimate origin.

Logic and experience tell us that all things transmute and change into different patterns and unique entities. Logic tells us that life goes on but that the lives the lives the lives they die. Lucretius knew it; and you may yet come to know it as well...

So the question before you to consider is ....

no beginning or ending .

That kind of washes away many things doesn't it?

Blaspheme or Absolute truth ?
