From Zeev's Turnips thread on IHub: The French are speaking with a forked tongue, while allying themselves with Germany planning a possible war less resolution, they have the Charles De Gaule, their only carrier, under full steam to the gulf.... Are they? It looks to me like the Charles De Gaulle is still on its maiden voyage and heading to Greece.....Souda Bay to be exact. I believe it only came out of drydock last year. The ship has had lots of startup problems.....do you think the French would use it in war at this point? seawaves.com

I believe it is going to join the scheduled war games in the gulf, for a set period of time. I don't think one can read too much into it. However, if it would have been a German carrier, it probably would have been withdrawn, so I doubt if France is as gung ho as Germany in its opposition.
