Getting pretty bad at Columbia, Nadine. Getting? Edward Said is at Columbia, you know. Nothing new there. It's all a matter of the definitions. The Jews must be a "race", you see, because then Zionism = racism, which is by definition bad, instead of Zionism = nationalism, which is by definition good. And of course, we must ring the old anti-colonialism bell, that always works. The fact that most Israelis are Mizrahim or the descendants of Mizrahim, whose ancestors never even saw Europe, can be quietly ignored.
