sounds like a great trade. Nice find.

My 4-Runner has over 200k on it. I replaced the engine about 24k ago, she's good to go for quite a while I think. Still feels solid.....great snow vehicle.

You must be itching for that sailing trip coming up. There were races on the lake in front of my place this weekend.

Jimmy,

i bought a 1994 jimmy, 4X4.
i had to sell tonka to pay for it.
plus, i had to dig up another $1200.

Sounds like you got a very good deal.
Especially with the low mileage.

My brother had the sister vehicle the Chevy S10 Blazer.
I think his was a 1988 model. I think the body was more or
less similar. Anyhow there was an inherrant problem with
the S-10 Blazer that a dealership mechanic friend told him
about that saved him a lot of money in transmission
repairs. Something called the torque converter lock would
go bad every few years. It was sort of a running joke
between the mechanics because they would often know the
source of the problem before even examining what the
problem was. Chevy refused to recall the item even though
so many models had the problem. The solution was simple.
The mechanic showed my brother a wire that plugged into the
transmission. He simply unplugged it and and he never had
a problem again. His gas mileage might have dropped a tiny
bit but he didn't have any more of those $500 phone calls
from the dealership. Don't know if GM ever changed things
over the years. Just some thing to file away in your head
if you ever have transmission troubles.

Anyhow you gas mileage will probably be much better with
this vehicle. That's certainly a good thing.

This morning I paid $1.76 per gallon for regular unleaded.

I may have to look into getting one of those hybrids soon.
Been following those Mini Coopers too. Like their style.
Not sure if they have a back seat though. I need a place
for the kids if wifey's car is in the shop.

After three weeks I finally got my car fixed. I had to
have it towed home 3 times from the interstate after the
dealer failed to find the problem. I kept insisting that I
had a fuel pump problem. One time they gave it back to me
insisting the problem was a bad battery cable clamp. I
looked the service manager straight in the eye and said you
must have gone to the auto mechanics school as my wife.
Did you check the washer fluid? That may have caused it
too...

$750 later plus several towing bills they finally changed
the fuel pump and my car has been running fine for one week
straight.
