Fair enough! The ending is unsettling. I just thought it was unlike any other I saw.

My favorite part was the girl "reading" the diary from the blank pages. I thought that was masterful, and like you I'm jealous of that talent.

I don't recall the guys from the waist down, but I would guess it's part of the overall theme of the movie, to enhance the limboness of it.

I hope you're not mad at me for recommending it. I tend to overvalue movies that are shot in locations I'm familiar with. I'm a "place" person. It bothers me in movies where they show movement and travel that I know from the terrain is impossible.

Another movie shot locally by a local crew was called "Raven's Blood." It was a similar movie in tone, but had many cinematic defects that they couldn't afford to edit out. It still put me in one of those delicious black moods. A guy here named Chuck Keen did the cinematography, and the local professional theatre "Perseverance" produced it. They hired some professional screen actors to play the major roles. I seriously doubt that it played many theatres outside of Alaska, and I'm fairly positive it never made it to video.
