Gun found. Many times. How about the twelve guys killed in the "accident" at the mobile biolab? What if Powell even said their names? Iraq would say they are "fabricated". How come you cannot understand that revealing in public what you have gotten covertly, ruins the source?? How about the abandoned chicken farm? They revealed that because the son-in-law who told them, is dead. The transmission you heard given by Powell at the UN was allowed publically because the Republican Guard knew =already= that that particular line was unsecure. Why would you reveal your electronic eavesdropping abilities, capabilities, when you are going to need to keep the enemy guessing when you HAVE to go to war eventually?? Are you even THINKING beyond Televisionland cliches?? (e.g. "HELLLLLLLLOOOOOOO" <= real intelligent comment. Wasn't that a PeeWee Herman original? Are YOU Pee Wee Herman)? So imagine this: Powell gets up at the UN, shows what 98% of the world considers a "smoking gun". Use your imagination... anything.. a barrel of anthrax, an entire mobile lab, a list of all leaders targeted for assassination, in Saddam's handwriting... TAKE YOUR CHOICE. So, at the UN, Germany says, "Well, that's it for me, let's go to war." France says, "You spun me around 180 degrees, let's go in tomorrow. Imagine, I'm on that list!!" A unanimous vote is taken, and every one votes for military action. Iraq storms out. Now the war begins (which it seems will happen regardless.) Because our evidence compromised our sources, Saddam has done the following: >Killed the three men in his inner circle of government who could possibly lead a transition to a "normal" Iraq. And anyone connected to them. >Changed communication protocols that have been compromised. US troops can no longer eavesdrop, as they "back engineer" how the system was compromised. The result is more casualties as tagging and tracking Iraqi units fails. >Realize by who and what means certain weapons caches are compromised. Those caches, and any similarly-commanded caches are abandoned/booby trapped. Only caches established on different dates are brought into battle. Don't you get it? You cannot show the world, without showing the world how you did it. And with war imminent, that would cause fatalities. Every covert "ability" is countered, once you reveal what your "spying" capabilities are. Just showing those decontaminent trucks caused great consternation within the NSA/CIA. Our satellites can read resolution so fine, they can read license plates from space. But you'll never see the "evidence". Too valuable.
