Roe v. Wade was a fluke. Legislation should be made by our elected representatives. Nevertheless, the long standing ruling has affected American society greatly. To reiterate what I consider to be the current consensus, I will repost this.

....assuming a conservative panel of judges were to reverse Roe vs Wade, I still believe with current sentiment on the subject, Congress would restore abortion to some extent. Partial birth abortion does not have the same support as early abortion and if banned it will be very hard to get it through Congress in the future. Partial birth abortion is just too damn grizzly for most people to warm up to.
