You think a particular month or set of months happens more than once in a trimester? No, month one only happens once, ditto for month two. Do you see the pattern?

We draw lines or make value judgements all the time in the law - such as for what crime we execute someone. So we can make whatever value judgement we choose in this case. There is no magic inherent in the birth process that prescribes one over another so I find such an argument unpersuasive.

What I find more persuasive is the argument that such a decision should be left to the parents, rather than to the government or to society as a whole. But this particular subject has some real nits to be worked out. Such as when the parents' right to kill their child ends and the child garners a few rights for itself.
