There's nothing wrong with using polls as a supporting argument for some political position. In the long run, you want the public to agree with what you have done.

Of course, there is a big problem when you pick-n-choose your poll to fit your argument while ignoring other polls. There is also an even bigger problem when you believe in nothing but satisfying the poll of the hour. Luckily Bush isn't susceptible to either problem, despite the liberal attempt to paint him otherwise.
