The people who say that war is not the answer are myopic. Nobody wants war, but the alternative is proliferation of weapons of mass destruction on a global scale that the world has never seen.

Every small country MUST know that they will be defended from injustice and aggression. If the U.N. cannot even act on something as clear-cut as Iraq, how can all the smaller countries allow themselves to be defended by anyone but themselves? They won't be able to count on the U.N., as the U.N. has shown so far. Their only alternative would be to develop weapons of mass destruction for themselves, and soon EVERY country will have to have them just to maintain parity.

Without concrete U.N. action in Iraq, the world is going to end up as a global equivalent of the "wild west".
