Private agendas... so are we going to risk US soldier lives for private agendas ? are we mercenaries ? what about the cost? At least, if lives will be risked... I want to know what private agendas exist. I know about France and Russia... it is about oil... NOT terrorism. I'm personally not convinced we're doing this for oil or even the Euro dollars issue. But if that's part of it, so what? so what ? simple... I am not going to part pay in $$ and other costs for damned oil... that's so what... I would rather have the USA develop alyternative sources of energy and let the Aras drink their oil that's for starters... You simply have to ask yourself whether Saddam is a threat to his own region and the West. If the answer is yes, the conflict is justified on the primary level. Actually... the real FIRST question is... WHO put Saddam there in the first place.... the second question is ... WHY in 1991 after paying in $$$ and lives the US left the damned maniac in power ... I want to know why... You can't reason with these people and right now Saddam's laughing up his sleeve as he plays his games with the U.N. He's in complete control of the situation so long as the "inspections" continue. You are telling me ? as if I did not know it... Are we going to start bombing every single cockaroach just because they are weasels ? Is it that clear that he has those weapons ? I mean don't you remember in '91 they glorified the so call "Republican Guard" as the firecest sob's of the dessert and they were going to eat US soldiers in one bite balh blah blah blah.... What really happened ? these "Republicans" (-gg) cold not give their weapons fast enough.... what about all those chemical weapons that were never used in 1991... I mean didn't they "threat" existed ? all done NOT by Saddam, but by CNN what Happened ? I do not believe a single chemical weapon was used.... Iraq is about the size of California. Believe me, I could hide weapons here easily if given weeks, months and years to do so. so... ? Let him hide them... we have the technology to know when he is going to get them out and when that happens, you bomb the bastard. I mean if we are going to do crazy things, might as well do them with the least possible risk... just fund the CIA well, bribe a few Iraqis in the right places.. and then bomb the sites if the weapons are there... why "beat around the Bush" ? -gg Let's assume we invade Iraq... so now what do you think the terrorists are going to go away ? on the contrary all we have gained is provide them with a great target.... and we will be there for years just being shot at like target practice. We will still have to go after the terrorits...
