One word: Afghanistan.

What about Afghanistan? It's by no means a finished story, but chapter one says that it is ruled by a band of regional warlords who are still fighting one another and the central "government" of Karzai. If the foreign troops dare to leave it will explode once again in feudal fighting.

Al, yup, that's the subject no one talks about; that and the nonexistent nation building program.

Al, <What about Afghanistan? It's by no means a finished story>

Of course not, but this chapter is a lot more preferable to the chapter entitled "The Taliban."

You can argue that Mr. Ivory Tower intellectual bozo is only stating the difficulties of setting up a democracy in Arab countries like Iraq and Afghanistan. But calling democracy in said countries a "myth" is implying that it's not worth pursuing. That is incredibly arrogant, probably even more so than the arrogance of the "chicken hawks" that you love to point out.
