it was a whimper... the infamous paper airplanes flying at the NYSE.

you didn't ask me, I know. Maybe somebody has some real data on the period. The problem I have is that looking for 74 on the web, all that comes up for stocks are the bear sites. No objective viewpoint there.

I'm not so sure about all these TA signals people are waiting for to do something. For one thing not all indicators are consistent. The advance decline line is going up, what does that mean, nobody mentions it.

It was not a slow grind or a whimper in the Industrials but most likely was in the Naz. The Dow went from 1000 or close to it down to about 550 within eighteen months. It was comical (in a very morbid way) about how good earnings could be and yet the stock would lose fifteen to twenty per cent on the announcement. High yields were commonplace and option premiums were very high (volatility).
