Nadine - I think of you as a rational and intelligent woman. Please do not do this to me.

Again:

(1) I am NOT saying there is no trend towards young Palestinians wishing to become martyrs (or "recruited" as such, if you wish). So I do not understand WHY you say this:

The last article I posted on the Palestinian recruitment of child martyrs came from the Toronto Globe and Mail, a mainstream and well-respected newspaper.

(2) On the other hand, I AM saying that your INITIAL CLAIM of Palestinian gunmen shooting from behind Palestinian children, deliberately using them as shields, and then Israeli soldiers inadvertently killing these children although they try to aim behind them DOES NOT APPEAR anywhere else than ISRAELI SOURCES.

Is this clear? Or are we going to through another ten posts where you show "child martyrs this and that" from international news agencies and I try to explain that that was not the point I was objecting to???

Excuse me, but this skepticism is disingenuous.

Oh well, "excuse me", but that's a bit rich, given that you did not even understand what issue the skepticism in question was against.

What is it you do not understand???

Nadine, Re: michael lerner (my post got way OT but its from the heart)

Jews have been betrayed by the left before. USSR is a good place to start. It has always been my belief that Jews are particularly vulnerable from either extreme because they present such an easy target. Largely successful folks in business(Jewish conspiracy for world domination) and often are very liberal politically and socially(jews are all commies). But the thing that makes Jews everywhere so vulnerable that there are so few of us left. Thats really why we have been such an easy target. And Israel as a state mirrors that weakness. In the end they decided not to rely on anyone and thats where their nukes originated.
In America we rely on the goodness of the American people. I continue to be optimistic here. Jews have been assimilated into american life in every regard. There is a love affair going on between americans and its jewish population--literally. 50% + of all jews intermarry to the consternation of rabbis everywhere. Both my kids have Christian spouses. But that works both ways. We celebrate chinese new year with one set of inlaws and they come to our home for Rosh Hashana. Sorry for getting way off topic. Scotts anti semetic post yesterday got to me. I love this country and hate those who try to divide us by ethnic, racial and religous criteria. mike
