I guess I should say that, the price at which I will decide we are too overvalued to hold a long position any longer, during the upcycle, is a constant, and is not changed by where the trough happens.

Yes, the precise point where the stock tops is an unknown, as it depends largely on herd behavior and the balance of fear and greed. But I will base my sell point on sales, and P/S level, and there are limits to how high either of those can go.
