I generally don't short. Mainly because my funds are in retirement accounts like 401k's and IRAs. And yes, I do use Rydex funds to go short the market on occasion. But generally with a small portion of my portfolio -- 5 to 10 percent.

I am still a little guy -- albeit larger than some of the big guys that believed in the New Economy BS and lost everything.

I think dipy is really Gephardt looking for decline in US markets so dems can run on that in pres election of 04.
