"He understands what the NeoCons (like Cheney and Perle) are up to...He is calling a U.S. led war in Iraq a Zionist conspiracy..."

Scott,
I take it you agree with bin laden, the quote above as an example. If he is the greater threat as you say why do you agree with so much of what he says or am i misreading your post? If i am i apologize in advance. If not, i will get back to you after your response. mike

He understands what NeoCons like Cheney and Perle are up to? (Cheney is not a NeoCon). He accuses the White House of having its own agenda, and says soldiers will be fighting for big business? Gee, scott, that is what every deadhead Leftist in the world says, and some Rightists: that it is all the fault of Zionists and multi- nationals, and the White House plutocrats are being led into war by the Administration Zionists (read: Neocons). That is what you take for insight? All of that drivel was a cliche in the early '70s, when the Left started romanticizing the PLO, and trying to "deconstruct" US policy in the region. Far from being insightful, it is near to a bumpersticker slogan, if only the words fit.......

An example of "pretzel logic"...

A policemen is shot by a fanatical gang of thugs. The police chief then decides it's too dangerous to go after the killers. After all, it may anger the gang further, and incite them to go after more cops in the future.

He understands what the NeoCons (like Cheney and Perle) are up to...He is calling a U.S. led war in Iraq a Zionist conspiracy...

Oh geez..... This war too?? Does that mean we can call your remarks a Al-Qaeda conspiracy and the product of their propaganda service??

Who wouldn't take Bin Laden seriously -- he and his colleagues are MUCH MORE OF A THREAT than Saddam will ever be...

Then where has he been for the past year and a half?? You mean he has to wait for an invasion of an infidel ruled state for him to urge Arabs to commit suicide attacks?? Why has he waited for this moment??

Sounds kind of desperate to me... (if, in fact, the voice is really his)..

Folks in Washington are so confused...Why have we failed to find Bin Laden and go after his network...? Our HomeLand is NOT secure and Bush wants to get involved in a reckless pre-emptive war.

Our homeland, let alone this world, WILL NEVER be secure so long as we have despots who are willing to provide shelter and financing to these groups. And the first step is Iraq, the second is Iran, Syria, and quite possibly Saudi Arabia.. and THEN we bang the heads of the Israelis and Palestinians together so they can finally live in peace.

There hasn't been an attack by Al-Qaeda directed against the US since 9/11 (that we've heard of anyway).. That's one HELL of a great record, especially considering how many cells (and suspected cells) we've disrupted and captured..

Now, maybe you're interested in creating some kind of police state where your security is guaranteed, but your freedom non-existent, but I'm not.. So I suggest you get a grip son and get used to living with the prospect of seeing the US suffer another attack.. It's going to happen again, no matter what we do..

And I have to say that, while I've often yearned for you to speak your mind and tell us YOUR opinion, I have to admit that I'm amazed that you're willing to take the opinion of a man who murdered 3,000 people (tried to murder 50,000) over your own government leaders whom you played a part in electing...

I mean Scott... why aren't you living in the Mid-East??

Or are you planning on putting Bin Laden in as a "write-in" candidate during the next election??

Come on you guys. Try reading a little (a lot) more carefully.

Scott sez:

I just heard the Bin Laden tape translation on CNN...

and then he politely reports what OBL says...

He understands what the NeoCons (like Cheney and Perle) are up to...He is calling a U.S. led war in Iraq a Zionist conspiracy...He mentions the U.S. propoganda machine and how those sent to fight for our country may really be fighting for those in the White House (with their agendas) and for businessmen in the defense industry...This is an authentic tape of Bin Laden according to the experts...Bin Laden distances himself from Saddam (who is secular) but calls on muslims to defend Iraq from a U.S. invasion -- he feels the U.S. and Israel will install their own regime to take advantage of Iraq's resources...He is calling on a muslim holy war to fight the American infidels..

Then there is a bit of a hidden transition into Scott's own opinion, or so it seems to me:

IT IS CLEAR THAT TERRORISM WILL INCREASE IF WE ATTACK IRAQ...Is this war really worth it...? Who wouldn't take Bin Laden seriously -- he and his colleagues are MUCH MORE OF A THREAT than Saddam will ever be...Folks in Washington are so confused...Why have we failed to find Bin Laden and go after his network...? Our HomeLand is NOT secure and Bush wants to get involved in a reckless pre-emptive war.

He's hardly alone in this opinion. So what's the big problem you all are in such a snit about?
