will not fight a war on different levels for the sake of looking good. Terrorists and leaders of certain nations are willing to kill our population to send a message. I believe you must fight on equal levels or face losing the conflict. This means a willingness to have just as much disregard for human life as they do.

Looking good? I do not care how we look, so long we get the bastards. but we need to be smart about it. this "terror war" is not a conventional war it has to be fought differently than a conventional war.... going into Baghdad with the intention of staying there and "establish democracy" in a place that they hardly know the meaning of it, is simple suicide.

Fighting on equal levels my arse I want all the advantages technology will give me, why place ourselves in the middle of their ring and get as many blows as they will give us. we can achieve the objective from afar... There is always opposing factions that will be willing to help, once the intelligence is gathered, then send the bombs.

I mean the objective is to get the terrorists right ?

I never said anyone owes us a standard of living.

Perhaps you did not expressed it... but you are expecting that the rest of the world are going to give up their raw materials, their labor, etc etc... so you can maintain your standard of living that according to you... it has been earned... right ?

Well... I believe the rest of the world is thinking along the same lines... so I guess we have competition...

think of this... China + South East Asia, population = 3 billion people; oil consumption = 19 billion barrrels of oil. USA population 278 million (or thereabaouts) oil consumption = 22 billion barrels of oil... so guess what will happen to the price of oil once the Chinese and the people of South East Asia really starts consuming oil...? imagine what that will do to the price of oil and other commodities?

I suppose that we are going to have to earn our standard of living again....

The point is... we live in the world together and we need to figure how we can maintain said standard that we desire by trading with people not by bombing them, just because we feel like it...

We do need to get the responsible terrorists and those that help them but we can't afford to be bombing everyone in sight... thge destruction of those elements have to be achieved in some other way...

we accomplished the needed population reduction

yes... we do need to control it.... by means of birth control and similar.. not by bombing them... once we start on that route we run the exact same risk... not to mention that we would be acting just like the terrorists
