And I repeat: the phases of his "work" MUST have been important to him if his "work" was important. If his name doesn't matter, then how could his work matter? He either changed his name over and over again for trivial reasons or for important reasons. The name change mattered, or it did not. If it was associated with defining importance in his "work" then claiming it does not matter is equivalent to asserting that his "work" does not matter.

Naturally, I could care less...but how many people change their names?? It is a pretty conscious and egoistic step...
