"n this case I think the ends did justify the means."

You're incredible Srexley....you're a friggin RW robot... Ollie North copped a plea to avoid jail time as did his boss John Poindexter, who was convicted of 5 counts of perjury. Doesn't matter though, Jr. hired him to run the domestic KGB organization he set up.. Reagan, North, Poindexter et al broke the law since the secret war they were running was specifically forbidden by act of congress... You think it was a great plan to sell advanced antiaircraft missiles to a terrorist nation when they just as easily could be used on us.... You're the type of zealot who would have turned a blind eye to the concentration camps in Germany had you lived there....

I don't think Reagan personally sold anything to anyone, but am pretty sure that directives were given from the top to accomplish our desired goals in these two areas. Iran was an enemy, but the weapons were to fight Iraq, not the U.S. On the surface, it seems like a great plan to me.

The Reagan administration not only sold weapons to Iraq, it approved the sale of components by US companies that could be used in nuclear reactors and weapons.

But of course for the dems, making repubs look bad is a major objective.

It really isn't hard to do......look what Bush has done in two short years. Its looking less doubtful we'll make it to the end of his first term as a nation.
