I noticed that the biggest peace demonstration once again occurred in Italy (Rome - 1 million to 3 million people). Meanwhile, Italy's leader Berlusconi is adamantly supporting the war. In Australia, the PM got formally censured by Parliament for his war mongering (which is not at all supported by the public).

What I find most interesting is the way this subversion of democracy is applauded in the American media. I saw an analyst the other day talking approvingly of how the German leader can moderate his anti-war stance now that elections have passed. Oh, those pesky voters!
