Bill,
Its the fear of terrorism that is driving most of this i believe. Folks like us want to act now decisively. NYT et al thinks taking a breath might lead to a better, safer alternative in the future. Bin Laden would be coming at us in either case. Whole point of this operation is not to allow bin laden to get wmdized. But according to CIA chief they seem to have a radiological bomb ready to be used. God knows what they would have delivery systems for in five years. People say preemption has become US policy. This is not preemption--it is reaction. Real pre-emption should have occurred back in the 90s when saddam kicked out the inspectors and bin laden attacked the Cole. Mike
