Hi Ed,

>So in your opinion, what should U.S. do in the Middle >East?

Well, to begin with, the US had the 3rd largest endowment of oil (after Saudi Arabia and the Former Soviet Union), but it has already consumed well over half and now is a huge importer.

Aside from the Middle East, the US needs to start looking at a new social and economic paradigm, because the current fossil fuel based society is totally unsustainable. An unsatiable thirst for oil from the US and other industrialized nations that emulate the American lifestyle is sure to create additional conflicts in the future.

Other than that, I really don't know. I wish I had the answer.....I hope we find one........but we need to keep our minds open to the possibility that there is no exit from the situation.......(=possible dieoff).

Warm regards,

Thomas
