And France and Germany are snubbing Powell and acting like the burden of proof is on him. Even the press and many Democrats are losing patience with our European "brothers." Like I said to Harry, I call them like I see them. Having said that, I would not be surprised if the mood changes so long as the Europeans maintain their resolve. <Europe and I will never agree with you entirely because neither of us believe that Saddam is the real problem.> Europe isn't taking seriously the U.N. resolution calling for Iraq's disarmament. Obviously they believe in it, which means they believe Saddam is indeed a real problem. But they don't have the will to enforce it because frankly they don't have the ability to. And it seems they'd let more terrorist attacks occur, possibly using Iraqi-made weapons, before they start running to America for help. You don't understand.....it has little to do with will. That was their compromise to the US. "We'll go along with your desire to get Saddan so long as you do it this way". They have never wanted Saddam like Bush has. Bush turned Saddam into an evil demigod to get support at home. Maybe the American public fell for it but Europe never did.......they see the whole thing as rather silly.Every other argument you've made in support of Europe (Iraq is taking focus away from Al Qaeda, Bush is uniting Saddam and Osama, Germany knows more than America) is bogus and demonstrates a view that Europe public opinion can't possibly be wrong. Whatever........from all the evidence I've seen, the European conclusion is the only one that makes sense. I think you would see it too if you weren't caught up with partisan zeal and loyalty for Bush. ted
