The Seniority Principle has had, and still has, a lot of tentacles in US politics. Takes years and years before an elected gets to really bring home the pork, raising both the amount of campaign financing that can be raised, as well as the attacks to avoid the possible majority senior.. Some years ago I think it was China who had the oldest politicians, remember all those guys needing help to walk in, sit down, sleep, stand up and walk out. Now it is USA who is the world champion.
