They don't want to take SS away. They want to turn it into a PURE welfare program. You breath, you get - each according to his needs.

And the sad, discouraging thing is, most Americans on the receiving end would be just fine with that.

If payroll taxes had really been put together for the future livelihood of the poor, then the government shouldn't be raiding the Social Security funds and robbing it of its surplus.
