Nice write-up by the NYT
<<< until now he has received an ambiguous message: that the United States will fight him no matter what, and that France and other Security Council members are opposed to using military force That leaves Iraq with little incentive to do anything but stall.>>>
Depends on what Saddam regards as ambiguous. Can the fact that the US and 20 Nations are willing to
eliminate him and not one country in the UN is willing to provide troops to defend him be called an ambiguous message ? .He needs a new dictionary

This isn't an editorial, it's a Greek chorus!

I defy anyone to render this advice into a single sentence with any meaning.
