Not a surprise there. My opinion of the two countries can't get any lower. I almost feel guilty for making all that money on euro currency futures in the last year.

I believe their reasoning is that such a step now will be admitting that there will be a war soon.

If it's any consolation, Schroder said today that Turkey can count on NATO if there is any threat.

(I have USD/TRL forward contracts and Turkish t-bills - where else can you get 59% interest? - and so I follow their news pretty closely)

Meanwhile, Turkish Foreign Minister and Treasury Minister hopped on a plane to Washington today for negotiations for financial (and, I would guess, strategic) advantages.
