MBIA does a lot of the Metris stuff, and they just recently signed on with Americredit i think. the older Americredit stuff is insured by FSA. actually, i personally think MBIA is much more likely to be done in by CDOs than credit cards; it is very unlikely that so many credit cards could default as to eat into the A tranches that they back.
