Using the 1999 Dow Jones annual report, it looks like the Dow stocks had a market cap of 4.17 trillion at the end of 1999. The current market cap appears to be 2.36 trillion, for a decline of 43.4%. The Dow itself is down 32.7% since year-end 1999.
