Yup, it fits the pattern. "My bit" comes after you a) change the subject (in this case from Hermann's charges of "genocide" to Israel's actions in '82), b) accuse me of changing the subject, and c) get the vapors about actually expressing an opinion - you don't know the author's work well enough, or his credentials aren't good, or it's all very complicated, or something else.

That's "your bit". It usually follows my making a point (in this case, that Hermann's charges of "genocide" were not merely "wrong", but slanderous) that you don't seem to have a better answer for.
