Yeah, it's a funny thing... Western farm price supports not only cost taxpayers and consumers a bundle (Japan, South Korea, and Europe are the worst offenders, the US is right behind them), but they also cost the lesser-developed nations of the World at least three times the value of all the foreign aid in the World in lost sales for their farmers. If we could have no tariffs, no farm subsidies, we could eliminate ALL foreign aid... and everyone would still be better off.
